He gathered a crew of experienced divers and sailed to the Reef of Whispers, where the ship was said to have sunk. The water was deep and dark, but Faris used a brass diving bell to descend. As they went deeper, the golden compass in Faris's hand began to glow with a warm light, pointing towards a deep trench in the sea floor.
They discovered the wreck of The Golden Star, covered in coral and sea anemones. Faris swam inside the captain's cabin and found a heavy iron chest. He used his golden compass to unlock the latch. Inside was the Sunken Compass, its clockwork gears still spinning silently in the water.
When Faris held both compasses, a path of glowing light appeared on the sea floor, leading into a hidden underwater cave. The cave was filled with fresh air and glowing crystals, containing scrolls of ancient navigational secrets. Faris realized the compasses were keys to forgotten knowledge, ready to guide future explorers through the sea.
