He put on his bicycle helmet, sat inside the box in his backyard, and started the countdown. 'Five, four, three, two, one... Blast off!' In his mind, the rumble of the engine shook the grass. The cardboard rocket soared through the atmosphere, leaving the earth behind. He floated past the silvery moon and watched a family of friendly space whales glide through the rings of Saturn.
When Rayan opened the cardboard door, his mother was standing there with a cup of warm milk and cookies. 'Welcome back from space, astronaut,' she smiled. Rayan looked up at the real stars shining in the night sky. He knew his rocket was cardboard, but his dreams were real, and one day he would build a rocket that would truly touch the stars.
